Any recommendations on Midi Controllers 2 Years, 8 Months ago Karma: 0
I do a little bit of production on my laptop using (Reason, Protools, Fruity Loops, and the like). Are there any recommendations on Midi controllers out there? I have been using a Korg controller for quite sometime. My production mostly focuses on electronic and hip hop. Any recommendations would be appreciated.

I've heard that the M-Audio Axiom series are great midi controllers, although supposedly their driver can sometimes be a bit dodgy, but whether theres a lot of truth in that I wouldn't know as I don't own one.

Also a friend recently purchased an Edirol PCR300 which he said is a great midi controller for the price.

I'm planning on getting the MPK49 from Akai. It has a nice keyboard, plus real MPC-style pads. There's also plenty of assignable faders and knobs for other DAW functions.

If you don't have much space, I saw Korg's new Nano Series controllers at Summer NAMM a few weeks ago. The keyboard controller felt a little cheesy (you'd probably be better off assigning patches to your laptop keyboard) but their pad controller would be nice for making beats.
